PROPHETS ROLE & FUNCTION

PROPHET
Prophets are ascension gifts that are set in the church to produce a hunger for the voice of God.

Words associated with the prophet are see, hear, say, seer, mouthpiece, messenger, watchman, revelation, decree, proclaim, prepare the way, burden, announce, pray, utterances, turn, prophesy, prophecy, foretell, forthtell, root out, intercession, repentance, holiness, deliverance, dreams, and visions.

Prophets receive and communicate the mind and will of God. Jesus uses them to announce His will, unlock mysteries of His Word, bring conviction of sin, and focus the believer on an intimate spiritual and holy life. Prophets are spokesmen of God.

The basic foundational function of a New Testament Prophet is for edification, exhortation and comfort. The grace on the prophet is to impart to the believer a hunger for the rhema Word of God (voice of God)

NOTE: The best way to receive/hear Gods voice is to study and fill up on God word and then God can speak directly to you whenever He wants or needs to.

PROPHETIC MINISTRY

WHAT IS A PROPHET

Prophet is a divine messenger of God. He or she is an official spokes person of the deity served on earth. A prophet invokes the will, destiny, plans and powers of God to manifest the spiritual and the supernatural in the world.

Prophets are considered by God to be officers of His kingdom. That means they are commissioned by God and delegated with authority that transcends the mere verbalization of a message. The prophets spirit empowers and enables the prophet as an officer to move in and out of Gods supernatural realms and territories almost at will, upon his release.

“And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet” (Exodus 7:1). Here, Moses was reluctant to appear a second time before Pharaoh, who was so much his worldly superior, but God reminded him that, as a representative of the God of heaven and earth, he was superior to Pharaoh. The king’s power was but human but Moses source of power was divine. Thus, Moses was to be to Pharaoh as “a god,” with authority and power to command obedience. As a representative of the Lord, Moses was superior to Pharaoh.
